Sometimes, when I get busy with life as a local San Antonio Photographer, I can sometimes lose inspiration when I’m under pressure from life's ups and downs. I’m not sure if I lose it because my focus is elsewhere, or if I can’t see the beauty in things because my head’s not in it. Maybe I’m just having a bad day and the colors that would normally jump out at me only deter me. When pressures mount, "it’s hard to slow down and smell the roses.", you know? I think it’s only natural to find ourselves in this situation sometimes. Not every day can be sunshine and bluebonnet fields and some of the best photography is created in dark times.
When I lose inspiration, it feels immediately like I’m missing something and I recognize it. It’s ok, I know it will always come back and that this time, like many times before, it’s just playing a game of hide and seek with me. But because I am who I am, and I’m an artist first and foremost, I can’t help but see perfect shots, everywhere I go. I live in Texas, everything is big here, there’s something majestic about San Antonio Photography. It can’t be found anywhere else, and it’s mine for the taking. So, in these times where my inspiration is waning, instead of not doing anything, I force myself to keep shooting. Travel photography always takes my breath away, not matter what my mood, but often the beauty is in my own backyard, right here in Texas.
When dark days clear, it’s always great to look back and see the moods that I've captured. Maybe the lines are a bit more aggressive, maybe my framing is obtuse. It’s like I can’t help by project my emotion into my work and when it’s all said and done, I have a catalogue of emotions. It’s my life, it’s my lifestyle and it’s all documented.

Finding inspiration is easy, even when I don’t really feel inspired because I know that as a photographer that there is beauty all around me, I just must be open to see it and open to capture it. When I least expect it, I stumble upon something remarkable and over the years, I know it will continue to happen. I must communicate with my environment because it is always trying to communicate with me.
