Never Miss an Opportunity

I'm a full-fledged, true blue San Antonio Photographer. I live and breathe looking through a camera lens. I can’t help myself. It’s in my blood! Everywhere I turn there is something that catches my eye and I must stop and photograph it. It has become my life and my lifestyle. My hard drives are full of photos from my many adventures gone by that I haven’t had the chance to edit yet. Travel photography, portrait photography, photos of my home, San Antonio, Texas, every day is documented digitally. They sit in all their beauty, waiting for the time when I have the time to give them the time they deserve.

Isn’t that what it all boils down to? Having the time? It’s an ever-escaping entity, this time thing, and it moves me more to capture life as I know it and see it. Yes, my lifestyle includes living through a camera lens but I also capture every day beauty for all eternity, that moment in time. It’s mine alone. Just the landscape and me. I never miss an opportunity to try new settings or ways to shoot because the product that come from the inspiration from being in a new environment, matched with the right amount of experimentation can often bring me to even higher creative plateaus.

That’s the funny thing about breakthroughs. You never know when you’re about to have one.

And that’s exactly why I grab hold of every chance I can, I must document the world in my way, through my eye that’s perpetually fused to a lens. I’m always learning and growing as an artist and just when I think I have something figured out, the lighting is different, or some element of the shot is different and it forces me out of my comfort zone to make it work. No two shots are ever the same.

But the feeling, oh, the feeling of when I get THE shot! That ‘money maker’ of shots. It’s such a win/win, excitement, if you will. Sure, it’s great to have something that looks good, is balanced, framed well, lit perfectly and tells a story but ah, when I learn something new in doing this, it reminds me why I take the time. Maybe I won’t get to those hard drives full of memories any time soon but I know that what’s on them is years of never missing an opportunity. What’s on them is the product of what’s made me the avid San Antonio Photographer that I am today.
